If you ask me, Courtney and Adam sure had the right idea while planning their small, intimate wedding. They had their closest friends and family join them in exchanging their vows. Keeping it romantic and special. I have to admit that these are my favorite kinds of weddings!
Don’t get me wrong, I love big get-togethers with all of your loved ones all in the same room, but when it comes to a wedding day, things get so crazy so fast! The more people you have involved, the harder it is to keep it about the two of you! Your wedding day is a day to celebrate the love and commitment as a newly married couple and it takes work to keep keep it focused on that as things get added! Major props to them for keeping it simple because I know that it’s seriously is not as easy as it sounds. But the day was about YOU and I can’t tell you how many times that unintentionally gets lost.
One of my favorite parts of their day was Adam and Courtney’s first look. I often hear couples share that they wish they could write their vows but feel too embarrassed or not genuine when reading in front of all of their guests. Adam and Courtney found the perfect compromise for that!!!
At their first look, they shared their personalized vows. They wanted to be able to be vulnerable and 100% open, while keeping that something special between just the two of them. It allowed them to show real and raw emotion not clouded by nerves and they were both so so happy they decided to do this! (And so was I!) They got to share a moment, just the two of them, that they would never forget. (anyone else’s heart just LOVE those moments!) I can’t wait for you to see the photos from those moments.
Another element I loved from their wedding was the choice to keep the wedding party small. That allowed Courtney to make all of their favors, decor, and bouquets all herself without feeling overwhelmed and crazy!
The only thing that didn’t go as planned (that I’m aware of) was the CRAZY fact that there was NO SNOW IN THE MIDDLE OF JANUARY! It was high 60’s and felt like a spring day on what was supposed to be a winter wonderland. Despite the missing winter, we still got the cozy winter vibes from the beautiful Peek’n Peek Winter Resort!
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your day. I loved every second of it!!
Lastly, a huge thank you for everyone who worked together to make this day possible! This list is another reflection of how much thought went into the day! The company they got their rings from builds wells for every order made, the invitation company plants trees for each order made, Courtney went through a company where she could design her own dress, the tux’s conveniently went in a box and shipped out easy peasy once the wedding was over, and all her ‘in-person’ venders were locals from the area! HOW AWESOME IS ALL OF THAT!?
