Getting to spend forever with your best friend is a gift none of us should take for granted!

Marcus and Rachel are great examples of that! Let’s take a look into their love story before I get to share their wedding day with you!

Rachel’s best friend was dating Marcus’s best friend and they invited them out to dinner! (Erich & Lindsey Smelka were there too who you will see next week on the blog for their wedding!) That date night Rachel and Marcus hit it off and went on their first official date two days later! They’ve been together ever since!

Rachel shares about the day Marcus proposed, “We were at his parent’s house with family celebrating Father’s Day a week early. I was getting really hungry and finally, Marcus’s mom came out on the deck and said the food was ready. So I got up quickly to head for the door and Marcus grabbed my hand and said to ‘wait.’ I kept asking why because I was super hungry haha. Then he got down on one knee! Everyone was on the deck, but his brother Josh (who was shouting from the bathroom – ‘Wait for meeeeee!’”

That day was really special to be shared with family and friends because Marcus proposed a few days before Rachels first chemo appointment. Rachel was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2020 so everyone was looking forward to celebrating some joy through the tough time!

With the support of her loved ones, she refused to let the bad news define her and she fought every step of the way and is now in remission!!!! Now we get to celebrate their wedding and wish them the best happily ever after!

These two have a future of hiking, hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities in their future once they get back from their honeymoon in Maui!
